Family Share Users Do Not Receive Alerts

So after a lengthy stretch of Chamberlain promising multi-user support for the MyQ, it appears as if we finally got what was promised years ago.

So, instead of having my wife log in with the same credentials as I do, I send her the invitation.  She accepts.

She has access to view our garage door and open/close it with her phone app, but there are NO alerts on her phone.  She can't set up personalized alerts or even receive the alerts that I set up.

Who in the heck at Chamberlain designs this crap?  We're going to have to go back to sharing the same login credentials because the alert notifications are an absolute necessity for the both of us!

I posted this same issue about not being able to set individual alerts for my wife’s account over a month ago. We bought the internet gateway in hopes of being able to do this as we had issues with our garage door randomly opening. No response from Chamberlain on my post, just others commenting they have the same issue. I feel like a high schooler on a summer internship could program this in a day, so I can’t believe Chamerlain couldn’t figure this out.

It took Chamberlain a long time to add multi-user support.  Do you know exactly when it was added?  I don't feel as if an official announcement was made.

We have had the MyQ with our Genie door opener since May.  We only recently found out about multi-user support when we bought a MyQ as a gift for a family member, and they mentioned about creating different accounts.

How in the world Chamberlain can implement multi-user support but remove alerts from secondary users is baffling.  I, too, contacted customer service this morning and was simply told that alerts were not available with family share.  What's the point!?!?

Tonight we will go back to sharing login credentials.  Whatever!

On neither phone?  Not even on the main account?  Did you create an alert?

I have also noticed that I am not able to open my garage door, although the sensor is working correctly.  It says there has been an error or it has timed out if I try to use the phone app.

Secondly, my alerts were not saving when using any web browser to set alerts.  Back in July I dealt with customer service for hours trying to fix this, even though I explained it to them to the T they said they couldn't recreate it.  They wanted my username and password so that they could remotely login to my account to try it.  I eventually gave up and only use the phone app to configure.

These companies absolutely do not want to get the upper level programmers involved, so instead they send you on wild goose chases with their low level "customer service" technicians.  It is very likely that nothing will ever get figured out.

They told me that they could not escalate the case because they could not recreate it.

We can build self-driving cars but can't properly diagnose a simple program......it's insane, and Chamberlain seems to be taking the cake on this one.  This forum is full of paying customers having endless problems, bugs, and issues.

The requested features appear to be within bounds of a high school Android project.  Is it possible Chamberlain only employs one developer, who just cannot keep up with a normal dev cycle?

If this is the explanation, I am willing to be a little patient while they staff up.

Who knows.  I think the idea and purpose of the MyQ is exceptional but the implementation and execution is horrid.

Holy moly, today, just a few minutes ago I get an email from Chamberlain announcing MyQ Family Share.

Hasn't this apparently been out for at least a month or two already?
