I am getting notifications that my door has opened and closed....yet I am at home and the door has not moved............this would be alarming if I was not at home. why is this happening? I also can no longer open my garage door with the app. I have had it for 3 years and it's not doing it's job.

Hello Sabine – I apologize that you are receiving false notifications. I know that can be very frustrating. On the MyQ Garage when you are receiving false notifications, it’s an indication that the battery in the door sensor needs to be replaced. The battery in the door sensor is a 3 volt lithium, size CR2450.

I don't buy the "battery low" suggestion because a month ago I had a lot of false alarms, and I haven't changed the batteries and the false alarms have mostly stopped. It has also been very windy this week (50mph gusts) and no false alarms.

I had some false alarms over the weekend but only a few.

Is there any other resolution to this.  I am constantly getting false alerts on my phone and my spouses phone to the point where I am ready to buy a different product.  Even though we only bought this a couple of months ago, I have changed the battery and we are still getting the constant alerts that the door is open.  I see lots of posts about this, but no resolution.

I would like to know as well. I get false alarms all the time. I ended up disconecting it after several rushed trips home to check on the "open door". Very disappointing. I do not recommend this product!

Nelson, if you want to know about turning off MyQ alerts follow this guide: https://goo.gl/kRTC4w. I hope that helps! Lauren

That does not help. We want the alerts that the garage door is opened if it is actually opened! That means that someone would be breaking in to the garage. But if it is not actually open we don't want to get an alert, and freak out that someone is breaking in. This can't be a battery issue because I have had this product for less than a week.

Caroline, it sounds like you are receiving false alerts. In this case, we recommend following these steps: (1) Delete the alert, (2) Uninstall the App, (3) Reinstall the App, (4) Create a new alert. Let us know how that goes, and we are here for you if you need additional support. Thanks, Chuck
