Error 217

Does anyone know what error 217 is? I am trying to add a internet gateway ' I've got a solid green and blue lights, and the green light even blinks for a second when I hit submit From the website, and from the iPhone app but keep getting error 217

I use to get error code 500.  They sent me a new "Internet Gateway" and now I get error code 217.

Any fix for this 217 error when adding a gateway?  I just bought this set up and now I am stuck unable to add the gateway and move forward.

David - You need to do a hard reset on the gateway. 

1. Unplug the AC adapter from the gateway.
2. With a safety pin or paper clip, press and hold the reset button on the side of the gateway.
3. Plug the AC adapter back in while continuing to hold down the reset button until the yellow LED light blinks.

Same here.  Chamberlain has supposedly escalated my ticket and I am awaiting a call back.  Very disappointing that this apparently  common issue is such a mystery.

I guess I'll join the crowd. I downloaded the MyQ app and every time I try to log in I get the 217 error code. I bought this opener because of the remote/wi-fi feature and I can't even use it.

Just installed mine today and same error code. So disappointing to see so many having this issue as far as 3 months ago and absolutely NO response from the mfg!! I think I'll take to social media and maybe dept of consumer protection if chamberlain is taking this long to even say "we are working on the problem"! Please advise asap or I'll just take it down and return it and get a genie opener!

Forgot my password seemed to help. I started getting 203 instead so I did it again and then it worked.

Having the same problem. I have emailed customer support twice and no response whatsoever for over a week. I cant use my device even though I mounted and installed it exactly as instructed. Worst of all no support to fix this problem..... this is horrible

Same problem here with login and 217 error.  This is amazing, I've setup an entire home automation system and it has worked flawlessly from window/door sensors, flood protection to lights and thermostat and all setup and worked great...now I'm adding the Lift Master My!Q garage door into the system and it is the only component that I've had this much trouble with...and I'm only at the login portion!!!!

make sure you activate your account before attempting to log in through the mobile app. I think it's easier to do the activation from a laptop/pc. If you created your account from the mobile app, you should have received an activation email with a link to the myq website.

I have tried multiple ways of trying to resolve this issue and nothing seems to work. Even creating a new email address and starting by activating the account first and then logging in through the mobile app gives me the same error from previous, 217 Error, and I have had this for over 4 months with literally no success

I was getting this error every time I tried to log in and I couldn't figure out any way to solve it... it turns out I just forgot to activate my account. I found the activation email, clicked the link (which was not the same color text as the other links), finished activating my account, and everything worked perfectly.
