I don't know if there is a limit on the name you can use, but you can add some text to the subject this way.

I do see your point, the word OPEN/CLOSED is at the end of the subject line, if you make a very short device name it might be easier to read but you wont be able to achieve what you really want.

Joe,
The subject line from your email notification can be changed by renaming the device you set up the notification for. For Example, If you do not name your device your subject will read “MyQ Alert: Garage Door Opener Just Opened.” You can change the subject line by naming the device and the subject line will replace Garage Door Opener with the name of the device. For example, if I name the device “Man Cave Door,” the subject line in my email will read “MyQ Alert: Man Cave Door Just Opened.”
To change the name of the device (website):
1. Login to your MyQ account.
2. Click on Manage Devices. It’s the icon that looks like a gear on the right side of the screen.
3. Choose which place you would like to edit by clicking on the button with the name of your place. If not changed, the default is HOME.
4. On the next page, change the name of the garage door opener under the Devices field.
5. Click Save and Close.
After saving the new name of the device, test out the notification.
