door sensor error

Less than 2 weeks ago, I installed a myQ smart garage hub and a door sensor on my garage door.  Already, I got a door sensor error alert in my app.  I followed the instructions and re-added the door sensor and it seems to be working now.  However, I had to add all the alerts and schedules to that door all over again.

My question is this: why did I get a door sensor error within two weeks of installing the hub and the sensor? I am assuming I got a new battery - so I am concerned it's either a faulty sensor or a hub.  Any suggestions?

Is the Wi-Fi hub installed on the ceiling?  If not, install the hub on the ceiling for better RF reception.  Ensure there are no metal objects in-line between the door sensor and hub (like a HVAC metal duct mounted on garage ceiling).

The hub is indeed installed on the ceiling and there is a clear line-of-sight to the door sensor with no metal (or other objects) between the hub and the door sensor.  Thank you.
