Door sensor communicating randomly

I’ve had my Chamberlain MyQ garage door opener for a couple of years and recently, I’ve noticed I was no longer getting notifications or I get them randomly, stating my door just opened, but not telling me it closed. I tried changing the battery, but no change noted. From the app, I can open and close the door, but it seems as though the sensor is the problem. Should I purchase a new sensor?

I had this same issue just last night....two alerts for the door being open around 1am but I am fairly sure it wasn't actually opened....or at least I certainly hope it wasn't....

I have the same issue. Sensor randomly sending notifications (continuously) about Open Garage Door and the door isn't open. Last night I got about 25 notifications throughout the night.  Any resolution on this issue???

However, the garage door opens properly when instructed through the APP and I also get notifications at that time.  But throughout the day I continue to receive periodically notifications about the Door Open, when it is not.  Any assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated.

Efrain, since you are also receiving alerts when you open and close the door, it sounds like you aren't receiving late alerts.

If the app is sending false alerts, try these steps:
1. Delete the alert
2. Uninstall the App
3. Reinstall the App
4. Create a new alert

If you have a MyQ Garage and are still experiencing an issue with false alerts after resetting, we recommend you replace the battery in your door sensor. The battery is a 3 volt lithium, size CR2450.

If replacing the battery in the door sensor does not work, the door sensor may need to be replaced. Thanks, Chuck
