Door opens with IOS app but doesn't close

I can open my garage door with the myQ app on my iPhone , and monitor the door position, but I can't close the garage door with the app. Any ideas why this might be?

David, have you tried deleting the garage door opener off your account and re-adding the garage door opener? If you continue having issues feel free to email us at myqcommunity@chamberlain.com. We can exchange information regarding your account and investigate further.

Thank you for the suggestion. I've tried this and moving the location of the myQ gateway, but to no avail. I receive notifications of door operations without error and can open the door, but not close it, using the myQ IOS app. Does the app require the photocells to be fitted, as I've not yet done this?

I can now confirm that the myQ app will not close the garage door unless the photocells are fitted, as I have just fitted them and it now works. Presumably this is for safety reasons.

Photo eyes are required for garage door openers to be used on MyQ for unattended closes. You can contact a local garage door dealer or our website to obtain photo eyes, if desired. Let us know if there's any other way we can help!

Sorry, but what are photocells and how do I get them? I'm having the same issue as the Op, Open OK Close not. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

same issue here. I have the usual sensors installed and door opens with no issues but using iphone 6 the chamberlain beeps and flashes to close but never does. Advice please

I am sorry that you are having an issue with the door closing from the app. I would like you to try rotating the hub 180 degrees and see if that takes care of the issue. If it doesn't, take the hub off the ceiling and move it further away from the garage door opener, just plug it in somewhere else in the garage and then test the app. If that takes care of the issue, you will need to install the hub further away from the motor unit. Always be sure to install it so that the hub is visible from the garage door.

Take it apart. Reposition the longer of the two yellow wires so that it remains on the same side of the light. Put it back together restart and reprogramme if needed.

My yellow wire was completely tucked behind the mother bored and would only work if I turn the mq backwards.
