Almost a year goes by and crickets from Chamberlain. Just get yourself the third party stuff, and I've learned to never buy Chamberlain again.

People purchased MyQ because it did work with Alexa then Chamberlain took it away with no justification! I am sharing this on Twitter, Facebook, Facebook Alexa groups, YouTube, Alexa forums, family and friends. Give us a free Alexa skill!!!!!!!!

Hi Jack, thanks for taking the time to comment. Chamberlain’s standard security protocol includes disallowing third-party apps that require MyQ users to submit their MyQ username and password. Such data would be stored with an unverified party, giving them access to users’ personal data. We consider this a risk.

We have heard our customers and we're aware Alexa support is one of the integrations that’s very important. At any given time, we’re pursuing and actively developing multiple integration opportunities, and will make them available when the functionality, reliability and security meet our exacting standards.

This cannned response is not acceptable!!! I can’t even list the companies with same issues that make it work. Someone needs to be fired! It worked then you took it away. The only reason I received MyQ for Christmas was to use it with Alexa. It is useless without!! My family researched and saw it worked but obviously Chamberlain decided to screw thier customers and take it away. People be warned don’t buy MyQ if you want it to work with Alexa!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I received an email from another user here that says Smartthings does work. Anyone using it? Or is it now blocked as well by Chamberlain?!

You can find code on GitHub that can work if you import it into SmartThings IDE. That being said it leaves a lot to be desired. You are better off buying this for now: https://www.amazon.com/GoControl-Linear-GD00Z-4-Z-Wave-Controller/dp/B00M75TEIU

Also you can look into www.konnected.io for a more DIY fix.

As far as Chamberlain, most have given up and I will not recommend them to anyone until they start trying to support z-wave or wifi hubs more extensively. You are better off buying a different opener and supplying a third party fix.
