DO NOT PURCHASE MYQ!!!

This has been absolutely the worst experience with a company I have ever had.  Run, do not walk away from purchasing MyQ anything.

I spent good money on this sorry POS and it completely deleted everything in HomeKit.  When I contacted their support they were absolutely no help.

When I initially setup the MyQ Hub and the MyQ Home Bridge it worked great.  Later that evening the garage door was not responding in the Home app but worked from the MyQ app.  I searched through this forum for solutions because numerous others seem to have had the same problem and had sporadic unhelpful responses from Chamberlain reps.  I eventually decided to just reset the Hub and Bridge and start over.

So, I was following steps from this site to re-add the Home Bridge and one of the steps was to delete the MyQ Home Bridge from the MyQ app.  When I followed this step EVERYTHING in HomeKit was deleted.  My thermostat, my light switches, my Hue bulbs, EVERYTHING gone in an instant.  When I went to the Home app, there was no home at all, as if it never existed.  When I called, a smug  tech rep named Andrea tried to tell me that the MyQ app doesn't have that capability.  It obviously does, and it did.  She would not attempt any help at all and kept insisting that they have no control over HomeKit, they can't do anything about it and that I have to contact Apple.  Which is completely ludicrous since their app deleted my HomeKit devices.

I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB because this has truly been the worst customer service experience I have ever had.

Please don’t forget to post these experiences on Amazon yelp and anywhere else to get wider visibility. Your experience is just one of the many horrible experiences people have had with this crappy product and horrible company .

While you’re at it with the BBB, throw in the ridiculous cost of the Homebridge... bridges (or hubs) for other homekit capable devices (like Hue) are half the price

I agree the MyQ is awful and never works. From a software prospective, I find it extremely difficult to understand how deleting something from the MyQ app, some how provided access to all of your other Home items and removed those. I cant see how Apple would allow this to even function or be possible. This is probably why the phone rep gave you the response she did. No offense, but this reminds me of when my father calls for help and says “an app disappeared” on his phone on its own, and after a little questioning I find out he deleted it himself and did not realize what he was doing.

That's exactly what I told the rep.  I don't understand how their app could have done this, but I was following step by step instructions from chamberlain which included a warning not to delete anything from the Home app.  I didn't even have the Home app open at the time and I didn't delete anything from it, but after this happened and I opened the Home app, my home and all the devices were gone.
