Crazy night activities and Wrong status of garage door

Dear Sir/Madam,
I bought a LM821 wireless garage opener less than 2 months ago. It kept giving some wrong status of the door, and then could not be connected to the server, even after factory reset. But then after sending an email to customer support, someone just reset the account(but I did not get any message about this, later I found out that then I have to log on through chamberlain.com ) and it can work again.

Occasionally, it will still give wrong status, such as keep saying door opened, while the operation is alternated open and close.

Last night, it showed crazy open close events from 2:34 AM to 8:49AM, (13 times), but in reality, the door remained closed for the night.

This kind of wrong status and crazy bogus events, actually will add chaotic or worry to the owner if the owner is away. This may force someone to add an internet camera to make sure it is open/closed?

Please help to trouble shooting this kind of errors and suspect the door sensor is faulty. If so, please help to replace.

I read an answer to a post said that the push notifications are delayed due to heavy load of the servers. But I think this may not be the case as there were too many and happened at midnight through early morning, during this time, there should be very few events.

Wayne - I apologize that you are receiving false notifications. Is there any chance that the door sensor is moving? Sometimes a heavy wind can shake the door and this causes the door sensor to tell the hub the door has moved.

Hi, Dawn,

Thanks for the reply. It's possible that it was caused by night wind, though I am not so sure as I was in sound sleep. On the other hand, if it was a known issue that wind can cause false triggers, then the door sensor firmware need some tuning. As I also observed many wrong garage door status report by normal garage door open/close.

After so many these kind of incidents, it appear to me that a solution to this kind of false trigger and wrong status to stay worry-free is to add a webcam for verification.
