My garage door has started closing on its own after being open for a minute or two. The lights flash 8 times then the door closes on its own. The problem isn’t listed in any of the troubleshooting items. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Robert, we think you may have the Timer to Close enabled. The Timer to Close allows you to set the door to close after a period of up to five minutes, and when the Timer to Close triggers and closes the door the lights would flash and beep first. The specific process to enable and disable this is going to depend on the door control, though they will fall into one of two types: 1) if the door control has a screen there will be an option in the menu for the Timer to Close; 2) if there is no screen, there should be an on button and an off button to enable and disable the feature along with a hold button to temporarily disable it. Let me know if this does not solve your issue. Lauren
Hi Lauren. Thanks for the quick response. I have model 349544ev. The control panel has a display but it stopped working about a year after I got it. It lights up but doesn’t display anything anymore. So I’m not sure what I could do to turn the auto close feature. Perhaps you could give me the sequenc of which buttons to press or should I disconnect the display from the power source to reset it? Thanks for the prompt assistance
