Mark,

This is an issue we are currently working on. There is no fix at this time. I am really sorry for the inconvenience.

I would be interested in this too, but with the Android app.

I set up my right hand door first, and later added my left hand door.   It would be nice if I could drag/drop or swap the door icons in the app, so that the right hand door is on the right, and the left hand door is on the left.

I worked out how to do it, but you won't like it.

This is using the gateway and multiple 888LM control panels; I don't know if it applies to other configurations.

Device ordering works differently on the web app vs the mobile app.  On the mobile app, the devices appear in alphabetical order by name.  On the web app, they appear in a fixed order that I think is the order in which the control panels were registered to the gateway.

This means that to reorder the devices on the web app, you have to physically swap the control panels around, so that their physical locations on the wall and electrical connections with the openers correspond with the order in which you currently see them on the web app.  Then delete all the devices and re-add them all in your MyQ account.  As you do that, give them names that put them in alphabetical order left to right, so that they appear in the desired order in the mobile app too.

If you try this advice, please post your experience whether it works for you or not.

EDIT: Reading this over I can see how the advice might be confusing, so here's a concrete example.

You have three doors, which we'll call 1, 2, and 3, and three panels, which we'll call A, B, and C, left to right.  Door 1 is connected to panel A, Door 2 to panel B, and Door 3 to panel C.  In the web app they appear in the sequence Door 2, Door 3, Door 1.  This means the web app is listing the panels in sequence B, C, A.  To fix it, you'd move the panels around so Door 1 connects to panel B, Door 2 to panel C, and Door 3 to panel A.  Then delete all devices from account and re-add.

Any updates on it?
Or you're working over a year on a reordering feature?
Nice dev. team you have there.

Hi Dmytro,

Thanks for the follow up. I spoke with our MyQ development team and I'm told that this particular app functionality has been added to our development road map along with several other solid suggestions that have come in through the community.

I'm an app developer. There is no excuse for the lack of this feature, it is beyond trivial to implement. And as far as sorting alphabetically, tried that and no, didn't work. Strangely the issue only happened after updating to new app a few months ago, before that my doors were in correct order by accident I guess.

I tried the recommendation above. I had to replace the Left garage door opener. When I replaced it and added it to myQ, the order of the openers on my mobile app was correct: Left, Middle, Right. My browser access, however, showed Middle, Right, Left. I deleted all three and added them back in the following order: Right, then Middle, then Left. They display as: Middle, Right, Left.  Guess I have to wait for the development team.

Howard, what kind of control panels and openers are you using?  Are they MyQ openers, or non-MyQ openers with MyQ panels and a gateway?

I am using an 828LM gateway, 3 888LM control panels. and 3 3220GDO garage door openers. This is an all Liftmaster system end-to-end.

I should add that I did not physically swap the control panels. After many years of getting used to the order on the wall, I don't want to change.

That's why it didn't work for you, then. The panels always show up in the browser in the order they were registered with the gateway. At least that's how it looks to me from my experiments.

I'm not sure why you think switching the panels around is going to affect your habits. Move the panels, but reconnect them to the doors appropriate to their new positions. In your case you would:
  • Move the current Middle panel to the Left position and connect it to the Left door.
  • Move the current Right panel to the Middle position and connect it to the Middle door.
  • Move the current Left panel to the Right position and connect it to the Right door.
Then delete all and re-add, left to right.  Let's see if that doesn't fix you up.

Thank you, dwasifar. I slightly modified your procedure. I swapped the control panels, as you instructed. I then used the browser connection to simply rename them. All is right with the world. Left is left, middle is middle, etc. Thank you.

I tried several of the suggestions here, and while the web page shows the correct sequence (LEFT - RIGHT), the App shows (RIGHT - LEFT).  It would be great to have a solution that is easy to do and get the App to show the doors in logical order.  Looks like this thread is more than 2 years old -- why can't this be fixed?

I believe it is the order that you put them in the app. Try deleting the one on the right and then add it back. This is how I rearranged mine in the display.

Last year I installed the left garage with a top of the line 1 1/4 hp unit. I added the 2nd same unit on the right for today's father's day. Now the newest door shows up on the left and the older unit on the right. This is just wrong that you can't orient the app the same as the physical doors.

You would think they would have thought of this. Kind of stupid to have the left garage on the right and the right on the left. Any ideas as to when this will be fixed??

Chamberlain, you have been working on this issue for over 2 years!  PLEASE FIX IT! It's not that complicated to fix!  I have 5 MyQ devices and the doors appearing out of order drives me crazy!  They do appear in order on my iWatch, but not on my iPhone. I tried renaming places thinking this would fix it.  I tried renaming doors.  There is no logical flow to the order the doors are appearing on my iPhone in your app.  Very frustrating!  Other than this issue, I like your product.  But this is a big issue for me.  My doors are named D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6 (I have 2 doors on 1 device.  They appear D5, D4, D6, D1, D2, D3.  I have the places named GarageA for D1, GarageB for D2 and so on.  They should appear in order.  Help!

I've found a solution that worked for me.... Changing my opener name didn't do anything. changing the hub name worked. Make them alphabetical in the order you want them. "Hub1" is now listed before "hub2"
