I just installed Chamberlan Internet Connectivity Kit (CIGCWC) and the control panel is indicating incompatibility with my Chamberlain garage door opener (045ACT) Mfr date 8/8/2017. All literature indicates this opener is compatible with the 045ACT model. Any ideas?

Hi Mark,

To answer your question, the Internet Connectivity Kit in particular was made for Garage Door openers that have purple or red/orange ‘learn’ buttons. It comes with an internet gateway (CIGBU) and a control panel (041A7928-3). The 45ACT logic board is a Security +2.0 logic board (it has a yellow ‘learn’ button). This is important to know because the 041A7928-3 control panel is not compatible with the 45ACT logic board, while the CIGBU is compatible.

The fix:
Install your old control panel and disconnect/remove the 041A7928-3. Plug in the CIGBU and add to MyQ account, then add the garage door opener by pressing the yellow ‘learn’ button per the MyQ app instructions.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
Thanks, Chuck

Thanks, Chuck, for your reply.

The current activation device is just a button similar to a doorbell button/switch mounted on the garage wall. Is there a fuller-featured control panel that will work as stated in your “The Fix” paragraph? Please explain what a CIGBU is. Is it the unit that connects via Ethernet at the modem?

Are there alternatives, such as, replacing the logic board in the opener itself or using MYQ-G0301-D Smart Garage Hub?

Mark, do not replace the logic board. CIGBU is the part number for the internet gateway, and yes it is the unit that connects via Ethernet at the modem. Any Security +2.0 capable control panel will work. Possible choices include: 880LM (has a screen that can show time/temperature and has timer to close), 881LM (motion detection, and timer to close), among other options. Thanks, Chuck
