"Hold Open" button quick flashing. Sometimes the door opens 1/2 and then back up. Same model as Liftmaster 888LM

There is a battery in that wall station that is not replaceable. Sounds like it's time to replace. Remove wires and jump them...door should operate fine without wall station. Hopefully, confirming wall station battery is going bad.

So here is the end of the story. Chamberlain Support (maybe they should be called Chamber lame Support) can't figure it out and tells me the wall control panel (switch) needs to be replaced. I ordered a LiftMaster 888LM (same unit as my Chamberlain unit); wait 6 days for it to arrive; go through numerous days of the door not closing unless I continue to hold the wall switch until the door is at the bottom. Install the new switch and still have the same issue. I pull out the owners manual for the WD822KD garage door opener and climb the ladder to erase all of the codes from the motor unit. Reprogram the 3 button clicker, and other accessories, and the door works fine. Swap out the wall unit and reinstall the original MyQ wall unit and it works perfectly.

So why didn't Chamberlain Support suggest this before I ordered a new wall unit? Too Simple!!! Spend $$$ to buy a new switch that does not need to be replaced.

In the future, if I ever need to replace a garage door opener, will I ever use Chamberlain or Lift Master? Good question.

Based on your original post it seemed that the wall station was the root of the problem. Remotes work through the built in receiver, and wall station through the 2 wires. Clearing receiver memory and reprogramming remotes shouldn't have any affect on the wall station. By removing wires from wall station and "jumping" it works exactly like a switch. I.e. taking the wall station out of the equation...if door still is reversing it may be deeper. Unbalanced door can be triggering ERD on open and/or close cycles...photo eye may be slightly out of alignment. Anyway, sorry for your frustration with this issue. I have seen the 888LM fail multiple times and feel it is definitely flawed. However, imho, Liftmaster is the Cadillac of operators. I am an automated gate tech and installer mostly...I do work on garage doors occasionally and I've replaced at least half a dozen 888LM wall stations in the past year alone.

josephmathwig - I just installed an 888LM on my existing LiftMaster opener.  It works like a charm ... EXCEPT .... Whenever the door is closed, the Hold Open light continuously flashes.  When the door is opened and the close timer is activated, the Hold Open light goes out.  Any thoughts?
