I have a my wi-if sign on my garage opener but can't find the 10 digit serial number that the app is asking me to put in to get started. I looked on the opener itself and the manual and still can not find it. What should I do.

It's not there. I uploaded a picture but I guess it didn't work. It was showing the numbers that were on there.

Hi Marvis, do you have the model number? We can provide the serial number if you have the model number.

Or, you can find the serial number for our Wi-Fi Garage Door Openers on the logic board end panel label. To find, follow the yellow wire antenna to the light cover, and under the light cover you should see a 10 digit MyQ serial number. This number usually begins with a ‘0’; the second character is a letter between ‘A’ and ‘F’.

Thanks, Chuck

Chuck, can I get some help? I have the 940estd model opener. I need the serial number and I am unable to climb up on a ladder to look for it on the actual device. Is there any way that you could look up the serial number for me? It’s not on the manual. Please??

It might be too late; however, if you look at the front of the garage unit, drop down the plastic cover and it is behind this.

Derek, depending on the unit, the location of the serial number can be different.

Location of serial number:
  • Wi-Fi garage door opener - located on the end panel label, the side with the yellow antenna wire
  • MyQ Garage/Smart Garage Hub - located on the bottom
  • MyQ Home Bridge - located on the bottom
  • Internet Gateway - located on the bottom
I hope that helps!
Thanks, Chuck

tiffany, what device do you have? For Internet Gateway and MyQ Garage, use this guide: http://bit.ly/2E6xZne. If it's another device, try this guide: http://bit.ly/2E6Yrxk. Let me know if that helps. Thanks, Chuck

Same issue here. Moved into a new place thinking this IoT garage door would be fun, but has been impossible to set up. Only serial number on any equipment is 11 digits long. The app is slow, and doesn't have links to any support. =\

ID'd the issue with 11 & 12 digit codes

Received an email back from Chamberlain. If you have a serial number that is longer than 10 digits, it means you aren't looking at a device that is internet-ready. Excerpt:

"The MyQ serial number would be on the MyQ device that connects to internet, as such if we only have the eleven or twelve digit product serial number on a motor unit it means it does not have built in internet connectivity and so an additional device, such as the MyQ Home Bridge, to setup the MyQ and it is on that additional hardware that we would find the ten digit MyQ serial"

... so either you aren't looking at the correct hardware or you don't have that hardware. The latter is feedback that I would've expected from the app or FAQ, opposed to the "you're not looking in the right place."

I don't know why this information is so well hidden.

I have the LW3000EV and while it says myQ all over the opener, I can't find the myQ serial number anywhere. Does myQ come with the unit or is it just compatible and needs some attachment to make it work?

Does your opener have a WiFi icon on the case?  If not you will need get a MyQ Home Bridge device to connect it to the internet and access it through a smartphone app.

My openers say myq on them. Does that mean they are internet capable? I’m only finding an 11 digit number

I have model hd930ev and there is no MyQ number on the motor. Does this just mean it's compatible to MyQ with the gateway, or can I lookup the serial number? Thank you.
