Cannot connect my Chamberlain Smart Garage Opener to my home WiFi network

In Step 2 of the "Get Connected" instructions for my Chamberlain Smart Garage Opener, I selected (as instructed) the "MyQ" network on my iPhone, which is telling me that network is not secured. In Step 3, after launching the Safari Web browser (as instructed) on my iPhone and attempting to go to the "setup.myqdevice.com" to connect the opener to my home WiFi network, my Web browser tells me that it cannot open the page because the setup.myqdevice.com site is not secured. Tried other browsers with the same result. Now what? I have to secure the MyQ network?

The MyQ network signal comes from the garage opener, doesn't it?

Let's look at it this way: the only WiFi network that does not have the LOCK icon next to it in my iPhone's WiFi list is the MyQ WiFi network. Why?

Because it’s not a secured network. You iPhone connects to that network temporarily to complete the configuration.

Yes, it does. But when I try to launch any web browser on that unsecured network, I cannot open the set-up page to connect the garage opener to my home WiFi network. Where is the MyQ network configured? In the garage opener? If so, how do I access it to secure that network?

Robert, I'm jumping in with a few more thoughts, below. Thanks for your help, RS.

When connecting the “MyQ” network, it is not a true Wi-Fi connection, but rather a direct connection to the garage door opener, hence the unsecured network messages.

The browser (Safari/Chrome) connection through setup.myqdevice.com is not a true web page in the traditional sense, but a vehicle for acquiring Wi-Fi settings to enable MyQ functionality; once the Wi-Fi settings are confirmed, the connection is dropped from the “MyQ” network and the default Wi-Fi network is automatically restored.

The “secured network” can be ignored; you can load the setup.myqdevice.com and follow the prompts/instructions once the page(s) load.

Thanks for the reply. So, following the Smart Garage Opener instructions, after I select the MyQ network in Step 2 of the MyQ Smartphone Control instructions on page 33, I go to Step 3, launch Safari on my iPhone, and type in "setup.myqdevice.com, upon which I receive the "cannot open page" error due to unsecured connection. What do I do next to connect the opener to my home WiFi network?

That's page 32 of your instruction book, not page 33

FYI to Community Manager: Could not open the "setup.myqdevice.com" page on my iPhone browser until I cleared all history & Website data (from Safari). Finally able to access setup page. All is well.

Thanks, Chuck. Now . . . how do I add the MyQ opener to my iPhone's HomeKit app? HomeKit asks for an 8-digit HomeKit number for the device I want to add (my Smart Garage Opener). I don't have the packaging anymore. Does my opener come with a HomeKit number? Didn't see one on the unit.

I also can’t get Safari to open the page. I have cleared the history also took out the led bulbs. Disconnected it from the power. Still nothing.
