I recently received a yellow “low battery” warning in the MyQ app telling me that the battery in my door sensor was running low. I just replaced the battery, but the warning is still there and there doesn’t seem to be any way to clear it or reset it. The help articles in the app discuss how to replace the battery, but then they get cut off if you try to scroll down. How can I get rid of the warning?

Checking in on an update.  My battery was low on my door sensor for some time and I didn't bother with it until I moved at which time I reset the entire configuration, but the battery sensor still shows as low.  Any timeline on resolution?

Thanks

I bought two batteries and a sensor, Chamberlain should reimburse us for the problems this has caused, this has been going on for over a month, now I have almost half the investment into a new one with parts I don't need. Lauren does Chamberlain plan to offer any compensation for the problems this has caused ?

I think chamberlain should offer a refund on this product. I’m tired of waiting on an update. Maybe a class action lawsuit is in order. This is really ridiculous.

Maybe, I'm ignorant on what they did to break the product. But how hard can it be to roll back the update that broke it?

I have the same issue bought multiple batteries reset nothing works. The company doesn’t care as this affecting so many people. We should put theses reviews all over social media so no one buys this until they fix it I’m going to start on Amazon..

Glad I found some people to commiserate with. I called Chamberlin first week of December and the guy escalated it. They finally responded Dec12th and asked for the Serial number and they needed to replace my unit. Then on Dec18th they emailed me that my unit does not have a battery sensor so my case was closed. Repeated emails to Chamberlain have gone unanswered.

My kids used it every day when they got home from school to get in the house. This has become a major issue for my house.

Come on Chamberlain! This is not cool. If you knew this was an issue - why would you not tell your customers?

I've written a negative review on the Android store and will now write one on the Apple store. Besides urging people to NOT buy this defective gadget I'm also telling people to avoid buying door openers from them as well. They obviously do not care about service after sale.
Can anyone suggest and alternate product? This one belongs in the trash!

Also wrote a negative review on iTunes store and even though the problem SEEMS to be fixed (I am not holding my breath) I will never change my review unless Chamberlain makes the proper gesture of good will. Hey Chamberlain, DO THE RIGHT THING! You've caused a lot of your customers A LOT of headaches

I would suggest anyone having this issue should tweet to  @ChamberlainDIY asking for an update.  Also include @jsohovic who is the CEO of Chamberlain.   I dont usually go to those extremes, but I think 6 weeks is long enough.  It is time to fix them or replace them.

This is the response I received this morning -

Replying to @tafische

Terry, thank you for checking in about this. Our teams are actively working on a solution and we will post updates as we have them. Chuck

We are actively testing a software solution to solve an intermittent issue that causes a false low battery warning in our app for MyQ Garage 1.0. The solution will be deployed within a week. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and are committed to providing a resolution.

So my question I asked twice, is chamberlain going to reimburse for the two batteries and one sensor I bought, which is half the price of a new system, does anyone else agree with me or do we need to rip on them on social media, two months without an answer is not acceptable!

I received a low warning indicator tonight and replaced the battery.  The issue persisted so I googled the problem and came across this thread.  I'm amazed that this hasn't been resolved after so many complaints.

I noticed mine has FINALLY!!! cleared after about 2 months. No update to the app so this was completely caused by Chamberlain on their end. Yes I'm happy this appears to be fixed but still NO love for this company. They wasted my time, energy and money with this VERY stupid mistake. I probably threw away a perfectly good battery and then bought not 1 but 2 new batteries. I will still NEVER buy a Chamberlain product ever again

FYI, the problem has cleared on all of my iOS devices and my Android Pixel phone and none of these devices have received any updates to the app since the update a couple weeks ago that did not appear to do anything. Maybe the app needed that prior update and then also the fix on their end to make this stupid problem go away? Who knows, Chamberlain doesn't communicate well with their customers.
I install and maintain integrated systems for home owners for a living so I have zero patience for this sort of mistake. I can't stand companies that operate this way. (Weber is another, they bought iGrill and then destroyed it)

Hope everyone gets their app fixed soon

If companies want us to buy and adopt these kinds of systems they must make them more bullet proof otherwise consumers should stick with what they already have, with tried and proven non-technology

Leon, after the door sensor battery has been replaced, please wait about 24 hours.  We have seen the error clear at that point.  Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions.  Chuck

Hi, I am also having this exact problem--replaced the battery over a week ago, still have the low battery warning, and now the MyQ functions sporadically at best.  Our nanny has been locked out of our place because of the malfunction.  Any updates?

I had the low battery icon on one of my two doors, so I replaced the battery. The icon remained so I reset the entire system and the yellow ! went away ... I figured I was good. Now I just discovered that I can't schedule the door to close. One door schedule (the one I didn't replace the battery) worked fine. The door that has the new battery gives an error "Save Schedule Failed. Your door sensor battery is low ... will not work until battery is replaced (708)". Well, I already replaced the battery which is how I got into this trouble of resetting the whole works in the first place. Now what?

I called technical support and they walked me thru a 20 minute process of resetting and redoing the entire setup. This fixed it for me. They were extremely helpful and easy to work with. It is pretty pathetic that a full reset is required with a battery replacement-hopefully they fix this with a software update.

I am a home automation junkie. I love things that work FOR me. I have multiple Amazon Echoes (all styles), wireless switches, plugs, doorbells, alarms, etc.. when I saw the MyQ several years ago, I couldn’t wait to get one and set it up! Now, about three years later, I am sorry I ever did!

Ever since the first month the MyQ was installed I’ve gotten false readings. Went round and round with their forum tech support on causes, which appeared to turn out to be that it was too WINDY for my sensor to work correctly. What?!? WIND can affect alert notices of doors opening/closing?!?

MyQ CONSTANTLY loses its connection and causes the phone app to not work. When I bought it, one of the sole purposes for doing so was to give my father-in-law an easy way to be able to open any of our garage doors from either of his vehicles without having to get out first. Needless to say, MyQ has only cost me more in time and aggravation tech supporting my father-in-law than it has been worth. He’s not tech savvy and when the app doesn’t save his password or errors out without an understandable error, he loses his mind. Keep in mind, he’s 80 years old, too. I need a garage opener that just WORKS.

Then we were all promised that our MyQ would work with  HomeKit, which took FOREVER to come out, and if you weren’t a member of their tech support forum by a certain date you missed out on getting the free bridge that allowed you to connect to HomeKit. And once it came in, it still didn’t work as advertised.

I spent a couple hours installing the bridge when it finally came in. Got everything all set up in  Home. Set a schedule to automatically close my doors each evening, since my kids are NOTORIOUS for taking out the trash and leaving doors open. Then about a month later when I logged in to the app on my iPhone I got a notice telling me that scheduling was no longer supported on the MyQ openers! It would still work on my Chamberlain door with built in WiFi, but the three doors I PAID EXTRA to add this functionality to would no longer support it! And to top it off, if you wanted to add IFFT, you have to PAY a freakin’ subscription fee!!!

I am so tired of MyQ and their epic failure that I’ve ordered a new Tailwind IQ3 system to try. It says it does all the things I’m looking for, INCLUDING Alexa integration. I’ve had several questions and their tech support has been awesome! (Thanks, Scott!)

I am getting the low battery indicator that will not go away in the app. I haven’t had my MyQ hub for very long so I was surprised to get the alert. I replaced the battery and the alert is still there. Is there a fix?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Battery low, will not allow me to close garage door.

My iOS app was updated today (version 3.75).  I opened the app and I saw a yellow triangle w/exclamation mark next to the door image.  The message on the bottom of the screen said 'Low battery'.

I tapped the yellow triangle thinking it would offer me more info.  Instead, it opened my garage door!  The triangle is near the garage icon but there's no indication that tapping it would also open the garage.

Now, my garage is open and will not close.  Tapping the garage door image is not closing the door.  I'm assuming this is because the battery is low.  Now I'm at work and my garage is open!

What a terrible design to 1) put the warning icon so close to the garage image so that 2) tapping close to the garage (but not on it) will also open the door, and 3) allowing me to open but not allowing me close the door.
