Looking for info on HomeKit bridge availability for Canada. Since the main thread is now completely polluted with man-tantrums this thread was opened to start fresh.

Thanks for posting. Also waiting for an answer for us Canadians. I’m assuming that the internet gateway will be replaced by the HomeBridge?......because what’s the point. But how long until we see the home bridge at Home Depot for example.

Hi everyone. I have been testing the new homebridge with Apple home kit compatibility and it works amazingly. Yes this device will replace your old internet bridge and this device ONLY connects via wifi there is no Ethernet port on it. But I must say it was super easy to install and works like promised with no issues.

Hi all !
Christmas before Christmas!!! The myQ Home Bridge has arrived today near Quebec City !

But for all French speaking users (and for the Chamberlain App support Team) you have to turn your iPhone in English to set up the home bridge ! The MyQ Chamberlain app (iOS) does not work in French (not possible to sign up or sign in, the app closes). The app seams not well localized in French but works perfectly in English!

Add my name to the list of agitated Canadians, waiting for the bridge to be released.
Or a firmware update enabling homekit on the 1.0 controller. Or a MyQ 2.0 with integrated Homekit.

I'm holding off on buying the controller until something changes. My money is yours, Chamberlain- seriously, just get the product out and I'll order it the next day.

hi there,
Reply from the chamberlain support (20170927) :
I do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience as of now we do not have a date when the Homekit bridge will be available in Canada. I know that Chamberlain is looking into this and hope to have it released soon. Thank you for your time and continued patience.

Chamberlain, just open the shipping to Canada on your website. We want to give you our money !!! Even if it’s in Canadian $ ;)

Where can the bridge be ordered in Canada at this time?
I can't find on Home depot or Lowes or Best Buy.

Amazon.ca only has the Liftmaster branded bridge. Is this compatible as an alternate?

I think only through the liftmaster site directly and then with all the fees (shipping, etc) I heard it something like $170.

My dad and two siblings are all interested but it’s not going to happen until chamberlain gets it’s act together on Canadian shipping.

I’ve heard CRA is cracking down on US shipment (thanks Justin) so expect duty charges too.

Thanks, didn't know it was compatible.

$89 for the unit + tax
$53 for ground shipping
So $149 all in to Alberta.

I'll wait until its on a store shelf i guess.

If and when will an additional door sensor be available? Also, why isn't the MyQ Smart Garage available in canada?

Terrence, the additional sensors will be available very soon. We'll post here when they are. You can order the MyQ Smart Garage Hub from the LiftMaster website today, but we're still working out details on updated pricing. Please let me know if you have more questions. Lauren

Lauren I got the homebridge working no sensor needed as it’s purely a bridge for my existing MyQ opener. Once I understood that and watched a couple third party video on you tube it was pretty straightforward

There is a discount on the Lift Master version during the CES show (code: CES2018). Ordered mine for 98 CAN just now using ground shipping. Funny thing the bill came from Chamberlain upon completing the order on a Lift Master site.

Yeah I tried again thinking I may have done something wrong. Same price as before except I made an error the total price of $125 was in Canadian currency. Maybe Vancouver is more expensive to ship to than TO. Non the less I love my tech but not for that shipping price.

Wow I would never order something that costs more to ship that the product itself. Too bad. Is there a friend or family US mailbox it could be shipped to I wonder

Yeah that is what started my frustration with this company. In the lower mainland we routinely order items in the US and pick up at one of US shipping locations in Blaine Washington(40min away)But when I tried that it blocked me from using a US address with a Canadian credit card. If they used PayPal it would work fine.

Found this very funny, when I re-did the order again on liftmasters web site without the CES discount the cost of shipping went down to $24(still more than I would pay).

I too am hoping to get the home bridge :( I purchased the openers a few months ago after speaking to a rep for Chamberlain- They said to me that by the end of the year, the bridge would be available in Canada. Unfortunately, now I'm in my new home build, and they still are not here :(

Maybe the powers that be could add a coupon that only for Canadian shipping addresses and substantially reduces the overall price for Canadian customers. Maybe THANKYOUCANADA2018.

When I heard Chamberlain MyQ was getting HomeKit support I found the original MyQ Garage on sale locally and purchased it because the Home Bridge was “coming soon”. Long story short, I’m still waiting for Canadian shipping; the suggested LiftMaster option isn’t a viable option with all the extra fees. I’d love to just pick one up at BestBuy like I did the MyQ Garage... or maybe Apple.
