Can I schedule my garage to close after a certain time?

I was told that the LiftMaster garage door opener we got that ties into the MyQ app, has the functionality to close the door if left open for 5, 10, 20 minutes etc. I'm curious if there is a way that I can schedule a close so if the door is open after 10:00 pm, it will close, or even just notify me. I know that lots of this sounds IFTTT related which as I understand isn't native yet, so I'm wondering if the device itself is capable.

Yes you can do it by adding a schedule in your smart phone application

The MyQ app recently was updated to include a scheduling.
Opening the app and choosing the menu icon in the top left, shows an option for 'Schedules'.
From here you can select days and times to have closures happen.
Glad they finally added this feature!

It works wuccessfully for me. I set it to close my door at 9:00 pm, and every night at 9:00 pm if it's open, it triggers and closes. Can't speak to everyones model, but for me, the behavior is working as intended.

So I can set a schedule but there's no way to just have it auto close after xx amount of minutes? That seems like an obvious feature that's missing

It is odd it is not in the app considering that this IS a function available on the wall unit for my 8550. Check there.

Shocking this isn't a default behavior. My wall plate is a super basic button so no go there

If you can use the smart wall control, then you can set the TTC. $36, fwiw.

Like @gryhnd said, I believe mine is configured from the wall unit as well. My original post was about only having access to close after x minutes. I agree though, that behavior would make a lot of sense to roll into the app itself.

I tried to set a schedule and it says my hub is incompatible with scheduling. Hopefully IFTTT can fill in that ability, certainly worth $10 a year.
