Can a stolen remote control cause a door control error

In July I got a new chamberlain garage door opener installed.  The day before Halloween one of the remotes was stolen out of an unlocked car after which all the remotes were erased from the door opener's memory.  Tonight I got the "Door cannot be controlled because of too many failed attempts" error.  Could someone trying to use the stolen remote cause this error?

JasonC32935 - Using a stolen remote would not cause the close error issue. The close error means that the door has attempted to be closed twice from the app and something stopped the door from closing. You would have to use the door control or remote locally to fix the close error.

Once you cleared the memory on the garage door opener, you don't have to worry about that stolen remote.
