Assurelink - want to use wink, convert to myQ

I have a sears craftsman that came with the hub that plugs into your Lan line. It is pretty reliable in telling me if it is opened/closed/stopped when I open the app, however the alerts do not work at all. So reading a few different threads here, it sounds like I may be able to swap out or convert to myQ and then use wink?

Can I go thru and delete the opener and hub and my account from the assurelink site and then use which of the following to become part of the family?

Chamberlain CIGCWC?
Or
Chamberlain CIGBU?

I would prefer not to use the one with the wireless sensor, as I'm not a forgiving person for false alarms, or inaccurate readings. We're talking possible loss of life, limb, or possessions if the door is opened. Or my mind if I'm thinking it's opened and closed, opened and closed. ☺️

Thank you
Robbie

Hello Robbie,

In order to use garage door opener within the Wink app, you will need the Chamberlain Internet Gateway, CIGBU. You are correct, remove your garage door opener from your AssureLink account. After you have done that, you will create a MyQ account, add the new CIGBU and then add your garage door opener.

Thank you so much for that! It's been ordered and should be here in the next few days. One last question if you don't mind. I've noticed that the alerts fire when the door is fully opened but but when it's opening, or when it's "stopped", as in partially open. Is there a way to fix that on the opener itself such as a sensor, or is that going to require an update in the app? So there will now be a 3rd status in the alerts, open, closed, stopped.

Sometimes we'll leave the door open about 8 inches and we want to make sure it's not left like that overnight. The app is not registering that as opened. I've tested with other alerts and they won't fire until it's at the very top of the opened arc.

Thanks again!
