Any Smartthings integration update

Is there any further news on SmartThings integration or timeline? Will this work with the current "CIGBU Internet Gateway" or will there be a CIGBU 2.0?

With the concern over traffic to the Chamberlain's servers, will the upcoming solution enable SmartThings to communicate directly over one's home network to get status/issue commands instead of going through the middleman of Chamberlain's servers?

Chances are since this is over a year old that no, Chamberlain doesn't prefer to help Samsung or any other third party application after having invested money in the same. Why help your competitor is their thinking. However, when did they eve need to be in that space in the first place? Answer: They didn't. But now that they are, money is the key issue at stake and they have no desire to help anyone but their bottom line. What they are failing to realize is that future consumers will be seeking integration with a centralized platform. Apple Homekit is no doubt the one they are leaning towards as Chamberlain considers itself a premium company. However, teaming themselves up means relinquishing a certain amount of freedom and becoming a slave to Apple software update demands. Chamberlain laments the amount of work Samsung had them doing, wait until Apple gets a hold of you!

If they were smart they would concentrate efforts to make their hardware compatible with a number of software manufacturers and stop trying to do their own thing. Let security be a problem of the homeowner and the software manufacturer, not Chamberlain. Just provide a good product that can communicate relatively securely with Z-wave or wifi like everything else in the home. The end.
