Adding a doorbell type switch to the LiftMaster 8550wl-267

I want to add a “doorbell” momentarily-on type switch to my garage door opener. There are four terminals on the “learning” side of the opener. I’ve tried all combinations but can’t figure out which I need to use with the two wires of the switch. Any ideas?

Hi Michael,

The first two ports (red and white) are the wall control ports on the opener but the model you have will not respond to any dry contact “doorbell” switch.

You can purchase a smaller “doorbell-style” wall control for your opener that will work in tandem with the existing one you have, the 883LM.
