Ability to send an alert on the current status of the door....not just the act of opening or closing.

The ability to send an alert on the current status of the garage door would be really handy.  Ex, Alert if door's current status is Open at 10PM.  Rules and timing get very complicated if you try to duplicate the alert for what seems to be a simple test at a given moment.

An action to Close the door would be helpful unless it's not reliable and might open the door vs. closing it.

Scott,

This is something we are looking into putting in the app. I don't have a timeline for it right now. We do appreciate the feedback.

Dawn...I see that response a LOT in this forum, for very good ideas that this app should easily be able to do, like the one here (alert after a certain time of day if the garage is still open).  What kind of programmers do you hire?  Do you ever follow through on "we are looking into putting this in the app"?

Ditto Dan....seriously this isn't rocket surgery here folks...the only reason I bought this was to send notifications if I've left my garage door open after a certain time at night (as in I've probably gone to bed and forgot to shut the garage door!)  In other words:

10pm - check status

if "open" then send notification, else end.

Here's a suggestion...try to continue to ADD VALUE to your app..."what else could be useful to our user base?"  Heck, these forums sure give you plenty of answers to that question...Sure, asking the app to serve me a nice night cap @ 10pm is probably not realistic, but to check the freakin' status of the door (something it's fully capable of doing)...get with it already!

As much as I would like this alert sooner than later, we do have to keep in perspective that we didn't pay for this app and we're not paying a monthly fee for this service to support this system...

I understand your view, but respectfully disagree. If you buy a product under the premise that it includes a free app mobile and web based then you should be able to expect functionality that seems fairly simple to implement with existing functionality in the interface. One might consider it bait and switch tactics to promote a product with "connected" technology but not follow through with basic customer requests and needs.

Put me down for this feature as well. I'd like to know if my door is open at 10:00am on a weekday. It means we drove to work and forgot to close the door.   Right now, I just remember to check the app every day around that time from the office.
