Ability to add multiple users!

MyQ needs to have the ability to add multiple users! Our family needs to have the ability to open and close the garage door from their phone. I also need to have the ability to alert different/multiple users when the door is left open after a certain amount of time. We also need the ability to see the history of the multiple users, to see who opened and closed it.

Yep, this is ridiculous. I've been using this for a long time and went to (finally) add my wife today and got an error in the app saying 'this device is associated with another user'. So this forum is where my Google search led me to.

Please, add this functionality ASAP - to echo some of the other people here, it is ridiculous to think that a household garage door is only going to be opened by a single person!

Doh! And I though it was an issue with my phone and or inability to follow directions. You know what's coming, right? You'll have to buy a new model to get this feature.

There is a workaround to let you use multiple logins. Too bad liftmaster can’t think of a way to build it into the app.

Sorry if I missed it on here, but could you please share the workaround you mentioned here?

We just installed this product today. Some of it was easy, pairing the door sensor took over 30 minutes. Very disappointing to find out I cannot share my account without sharing my login information and I can't use it with Alexa. If I want to use it with Siri I have to shell out another $100. If I want to use Google Assistant $10 a year just for an API. The scheduling feature has also been disabled until further notice. Maybe they should fix these issues rather than trying to figure out how to make their customers spend more money for something they should be getting for free. This is just crazy. You can bet next time I buy a garage door opener it won't be Chamberlain.

I guess Chamberlain intentionally doesn't mention this "FEATURE" on their web site since nobody would buy the product if they knew in advance that it didn't support multiple users.  5 months have gone by since a fix was semi-promised.  When is this going to be fixed???

Perhaps the reason the vendor has gone radio silent on this is that multiple users cannot be fixed in sottware, it requires a hardware upgrade. If that is true then the vendor has 2 options;
1. Provide a free hardware upgrade to all users
2. Create a new model and charge all users to upgrade
Option 1 costs the vendor a lot of money, while option 2 causes a huge uproar and a ton of negative press on social media which will impact future sales. I would suggest the vendor is caught between a rock and a hard place.
However, if it can be fixed in software, the vendor needs to step up and fix the problem quickly before a social media storm erupts

The App connects to Chamberlain, not your garage door opener. Your garage door opener also connects to Chamberlain. Hence it is all managed on their servers and nothing on your garage door. Thus adding users is just a matter of updating the capability on the software running on their servers and then updating the app.

Well, if it that easy, why doesn’t Chamberlain fix it? It is fairly obvious through this thread that a LOT of users are upset about this problem and lack of response by Chamberlain. And oh, BTW, Chamberlain is only seeing the tip of the iceberg since I would guess that only a very small percentage of owners actually access this support site. When can we expect this to be fixed????

I contacted Chamberlain by phone again complaining. Typicsl runaround verbally but was sent a followup survey where I BLASTED them royally. Survey asked if I wanted a personal followup to which I replied "yes". Will see if I EVER get a response!

Based on the ongoing lack of response to a significant customer issue, it is painfully obvious that Chamberlain really doesn’t care what their customers think. They have our money and if we have a problem, too bad. Guess they don’t understand that in today’s world, customer satisfaction is a huge differentiation both ways - good and bad. Sooner or later , they are going to find out the true impact of terrible customer service. To reiterate a previous post, make your concerns known on all social media platforms and sites that allow product reviews. I have only had this product for about a week, yet I have never seen a vendor ignore customer feedback so blatantly

This is BS. W bought a new house with a liftmaster mq in it. After reading the threads here it appears these morons are charging to control by google home but do not even provide for more than one user? Thats pathetic.

This should be a priority and needs to be fixed ASAP.

Honestly, I expected multiple log-ins for multiple users (Similar to the nest that it links with).
1 person should have full master control and have the ability to invite/kick family members directly from the App. Each person should be able to sign up for their own Alerts.  I should not need to share my Login/PW with anyone (even family).

As I've mentioned before, I manage a 5-gate facility in Hollywood (all Chamberlain/Liftmaster controllers). You can imagine that I need multiple users!  I can't go sharing my login with people, that would be nuts.

I recently installed a third Gogogate controller and working on a fourth.  Works great out of the box.

I recommend GoGoGate: https://amzn.to/2Jl6XYT

People kept telling me to install and use the Wink App, but I was hesitant. I finally decided to give it a try and I wish I had done it sooner. It works very well.
I installed this device yesterday and just noticed the lack of the multiple user feature; it's going back to the shelves of Home Depot tomorrow.

You can use the Wink app.  Add it as a device within Wink app and share it with as many users as you want.  They will create their own logins to Wink.
I don't have the Wink Hub, do I need it?

I think what mattnis is stating is that the Wink app allows you to add a garage door by linking the MyQ account. So each user would need their own Wink account, but when each user adds the garage door, they need to use the same MyQ account username and password.

The advantage to this is that the MyQ app will not allow simultaneous logons. But by using Wink, you don't run into this problem.

And you do not need the hub to do this.

Everyone posting here needs to go to Amazon.com and start posting reviews that users should NOT buy this product specifically because it doesn't support multiple users. Amazon is the #1 online seller of everything, so if we publicize the problem there, perhaps someone at LiftMaster take us seriously. Seriously everyone, don't just post your comments here. Post them in a place where LiftMaster will care.

I believe the MYQ app is now allowing up to 4 users to connect to it. The "Main" user needs open the app, click the three bars in the upper left hand corner of the screen, click on "People" then click on the plus sign in the upper right of the screen. It will prompt you to send a link to new users.

I was able to successfully add my wife as a user via the IOS app. We were upset to find out that she could not set up her own unique alerts or receive alerts that I set up to notify when the door opens/closes. All she can do is see the status of the door and open it via the app.

Does anyone know if the Wink app previously mentioned allows for unique alerts per user?

Why can't invited users set up their own alerts?  Seems like an arbitrary limitation. Was anyone able to add myq to their Wink app using the invited account?

I have this exact same problem as Dan does above.  My husband added me as a user via the iOS app yesterday morning just fine.  I am able to see the status of the garage door and open and close it but I need to be able to see alerts (like when the garage door is opening or closing).  We have this for security purposes.  If we just share usernames and passwords, would I be able to see alerts then?  Or will it kick him off the app if I am on the app?  I don't want that either.
