Ability to add multiple users!

MyQ needs to have the ability to add multiple users! Our family needs to have the ability to open and close the garage door from their phone. I also need to have the ability to alert different/multiple users when the door is left open after a certain amount of time. We also need the ability to see the history of the multiple users, to see who opened and closed it.

So is their a definative goal to add multiple user access to the product currently in the market? Or are you waiting for a future new model. Possibly pushing customers to a second product to support multi user. What expectations can the consumer have in order to decide on the best course of action. Is it worth waiting for an update or do we need to look at other options. Some solid commitments would go a long way.

Android user have the ability to have up to 4 users. This something new within the last month. I'm not sure about Iphone users though. Hope this helps.

Same problem here, and it's a big one.  Multiple users are a must.  How long does it take to correct such a huge oversight?

Is it a legal issue? I am just baffled because I have seen multiple versions of this exact question for more than a year and the same standard response (I would rather say excuse at this point). It is hard for anyone user to believe that you have been working on such a simple issue for this long.
DO SOMETHING!!!! Release at least a beta app with these features, pleaaaaaase

Hi Dave, 

Based on feedback we received in beta testing, we delayed the launch of Multi-User functionality to create a more robust, fully-featured experience.  A specific launch date has not yet been set, but we we will announce our plans to our customers as soon as possible.

@Chamberlain This Multi-User functionality launch you speak of is from 8 months ago....how much more robust do you need to make this feature, it should be straight forward "Add a user" plain and simple. Figure it out already!

@Chamberlain, I agree with the other users comments. You really should have better publicized that the app does not allow for multiple users (other than adding a guest functionality). I'm really mad I purchased this product now and I'm being sure to tell everyone I know before they make the same mistake I did. Not sure why you prioritized adding additional functionality over multiple users. I would say that is a mistake.

This is ridiculous. It's 2018. My kids cannot use this app now because they need to share my password and I'm not giving them that for privacy reasons. The 'remember' button doesn't even work. We need to allow multiple users with their own logins. I feel ripped off after buying this product as my family cannot use it. Please fix this!

Your MyQ login password SHOULD NOT be the same as your Email account password. But you do need to either enter it on each family member’s device or share it with them at this point.

When you have 1 Garage door you are managing, it is easy to share the account with a family member.  However, once the account is logged into from one device, the other device gets logged out.
There are other home security devices that have the "Admin" vs "occupant" relationship.  Will Chamberlain ever get this figured out?  PLEASE!!!!

If your developement team doesnt know to implement Multi-User.... go ask August Smartlock ... they do multi-users , time-restrictions, Owner/Guest access grant/revoke....

I bought this product 2 days ago... I am now uninstalling it and boxing it back up and will be returning it today!! FYI I am switching to the gogoGate 2 (can find on amazon) it HAS multi-user with your first 10 free... that’s right 10 users!!!!!! PEACE OUT Chamberlain MyQ it hasn’t ever been fun....

Can we please get more than just a “we will pass the info along”? As consumers who have invested in this product and are disappointed, we would like to see some sincere dialogue and attempt to resolve this problem. Is it on the roadmap? Is it in the backlog of features? Is it slated for a release? If so, then when? If not, then why? So far I personally have seen very sporadic and half hearted attempts by your company to address this obviously widespread concern. For your company’s sake and for ours, please raise this with some urgency to keep your customers satisfied.

You know it's a lost cause when customers have given up asking for results and now just ask to have their concerns completely dismissed using different language. It's been 3 years of "we'll let you know" it's time to just accept that the customer is the least important thing in their business plan.

@Chamerberlain Admin - Just ran into this thread after trying to figure out how to better manage multiple family members on my garage door and my daughter's garage door. Seemed silly that we'd have to have two different accounts for two different devices, share passwords between users, and couldn't provision multiple users on those devices. Please increase the priority with your development team to address this missed feature.

Can you please clarify whether or not the Family Sharing feature currently advertised to work for up to six users in the description of myQ in the App Store is a real thing or not? So far, I’ve only seen it on the description of the app in the App Store, but I can’t find any other evidence that it is an available feature anywhere else.

Here’s more info I found on Family Sharing of App Store purchases and content, which is apparently an iOS feature that allows family members to share apps and purchases with one another and doesn’t really have anything to do with myQ in particular. I’ll have to experiment with other family members’ devices and accounts to see if they can use myQ that way, but my initial impression is that the result would be essentially the same as if they just installed the app on their own devices and used my login credentials (which is basically the same kind of sub-optimal workaround already suggested elsewhere in the discussion). https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht201085

I kept wondering why my alerts kept “turning themselves off” only to learn that my cleaning lady was getting all alerts and kept turning them off. I had no idea the alerts were on the account, not on the device. Since we have to share access, makes sense that all get the alerts. Please get a multi user feature developed and enabled as soon as possible. I’d be more than happy to be a beta tester.

This is very frustrating. I just bought a Chamberlain opener, but I was not aware that it would not work with my homelink devices (in 3 cars) and that I could not use more than one smartphone to control the device. I spent extra money to get a "better" product, and have less functionality. Now I have 4 users with the possibility for only 3 remotes unless I want to spend even more money. No worries, though--I don't actually want value for my investment; like every other poster, I'll feel 100% satisfied if you just "pass my input along to the team."

I also ran into this with my landlord.  I had originally recommended the Genie brand and their Aladdin Connect since it has this functionality today.  Unfortunately they used the Liftmaster and now I'm beholden to a single account and sharing and managing a password for multiple people accessing the garage.  Very irresponsible for a company to be encouraging people to share a single password which goes against any IT Security 101 policy and would allow access to someones home!

Use the Wink app for this purpose. It works exactly like the myq app.

Weeks, months and years go by...  I've had the MyQ App for several years and this has been a problem since day flipping 1!!!  Is there even a team?  If so, why is this team still employed?  Anyone in my organization that performs this poorly would have been looking for a new job.  I find it very difficult to believe that in 2018 a single master account holder cannot allow/share to a multi-user platform.  This single master account holder should have the ability to allow or disable multiple users.  Even my cheap Arlo Security APP has this functionality.  This is pretty basic stuff Chamberlain!  But hey, we are just the consumers so pass it along to the non-existing team!

Exactly don’t care. It’s been going on for too long. I wish I can just get rid of my 3 openers without losing money. I use to say it’s great when people ask. Now I will say it sucks. Stay far away from this brand. I should make a review video explaining this issue and share it to everyone I know. Who will share it to everyone they know... Terrible

Yes I think with their new myQ subscription service is where all the money is going not our product. I think i am scrapping this and going to install a NEXX garage door opener that has the multi user thing in the bag. They have to have a update now or a date, but not sure it will actually happen with their new subscription service they have.

Wow.... I really wish I would have known this before I installed this opener. I would have definitely gone a different direction. This is pretty ridiculous.

Well in Chamberlain's defense, they've worked pretty hard to make sure that you don't figure this out until it's too late. It would be pretty dumb of them to publicize it.
