I have had my unit for four years, but they are covering it because it was part of a defective batch. It can't hurt to give them your production date and serial number. There is a decent chance it will still be covered under warranty.
If all else fails, you can replace the two capacitors on the control module board. Good luck!

Has anyone gotten a replacement from chamberlain? It seems there was, at a minimum, a bad batch. I am hesitant to buy another unless they have fixed the board or capacitor issue.
EDIT: We had been having some intermittent issues like the light button not working and door button not working in the days leading up to the total failure.
EDIT2: Contacted support via CHAT and they told me they would send me a replacement. I will update this post when issue is resolved. Good customer support so far.

The root problem revolves around deficient capacitors produced by just a handful of capacitor manufacturers during a specific period of years...mid-late '90s I seem to recall. Many of these began failing in service within 2-3 years...FAR SOONER than their designed life expectancy. I have a high end tape deck that had about 25 affected capacitors that "began to die" long before THEIR time also, and were a REAL *itch to access and replace due to their locations on some "very crowded" circuit boards.
With the 888LM and similar control units, the two 2.7V 1 farad capacitors are adjacent to each other and easily accessible, being close to one edge of the circuit board (others have already posted good pictures of these capacitors and their location, earlier in this forum discussion). They are easy to access, and with a basic knowledge of soldering electronic components,they are also easy to remove and replace...but pay close attention however to the polarity. The "negative banding" on each capacitor should be facing towards the middle of the circuit board when the replacements are installed (2.7V 1F capacitors cost about $10 for two on Amazon). VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE...there are several tiny "surface mounted" components in close proximity to the circuit board holes these capacitors are soldered into. BE CAREFUL not to allow your soldering pencil to linger longer than necessary, or to inadvertently make contact with and "de-solder" these small surface mounted components. Again...replacing the defective capacitors is not at all hard, but proximity to the surface mounted components I spoke of dictates that reasonable care be taken to not create a "new problem" through disrupting these nearby components....or "bridge" circuit elements because excess solder is used and some ends up where not desired. Obviously...if your soldering skills are quite minimal, or your hand steadiness, as with a number of folks my age (60), has become a bit suspect with time, it's probably best to just buy a replacement controller.
Took me 3 days to receive the capacitors and about 15 minutes to remove the bad ones and install the replacements. Once the controller was re-installed, a few moments more of "flashing lights" as the capacitors completed their initial "charging process" and then....no more issues with flashing lights or the incessant beeping!
I have had the MyQ Garage installed for less than 6 hours now. I was super exited to get this product added to my smart home setup. Now, I find myself on a ladder at 1:00am uninstalling it because my garage door won't stop opening by itself.
My bedroom sits directly above my garage; so, with a chain driven LiftMaster opener, I know every time the garage door is opened because my bedroom floor shakes.
I was awakened 2 times tonight by the sound of my garage door opening. In 10 years, I've never had a problem with the opener until the night I installed this product.
Here's the weird part. After opening itself the 2nd time tonight, I unplugged it from the power outlet. A few minutes later, the door opened again! I then got the ladder back out and took it and the door sensor down and deleted the device from the app. Knock on wood...it hasn't happened again since.
Anyone else have similar issues? Why would it open again even after cutting the power to the device? This happened late at night, when none of my neighbors would have been using their openers, so I doubt it's any interference from them.

Same problem,888LM wall unit flashing red orange and beeping, LM send me already four (4) repleacemants, I instaled them and the problem not fixed - still exist!!!!
Customer service keep sending me replacements, which is not solving the problem
