"Save Schedule Failed" error

I have the MyQ Garage, model MYQ-G0201.  When I try to create a schedule in the phone app, I get the error "Save Schedule Failed.  This schedule cannot be saved at this time.  Please check your internet connection and try again."  The alerts and everything else in the app is working, including the ability to open/close the garage door.  Any ideas on how I can resolve this?

It has been 6 months since you said you were turning off the feature but that your engineers were dedicated to a fix. Your lackluster support for the product I purchased and other customers with this decision has left me to pursue your competitors. You lack integration with echo, wink, ifttt and aren't worth the money we spend on your products. Your alerts have stopped working for countless customers, who mostly end up saying only after they complain enough do their alerts start working and then fail again.

If you purchase this company's products after seeing the complaints littered throughout the community forum, you are just the consumer they are looking for. I believe I will be avoiding Chamberlain products for the. Forseeeable future.

As others have said, 1/2 the functionality I bought this for is broken. I woke to an open garage yet again when the device I bought was supposed to shut it for me at a scheduled time.

1 - Your error message sucks. Use the prompt to say "We purposefully broke functionality" not "check your internet".

2 - Give me a check box to check that says I understand the risks of turning on the schedule to clear you of the bad you are likely legally worried about happening when the door opens at the wrong time.  The 100 times it will work correctly for me as a result will negate the one time the battery died and it did the opposite of what I expected and I change the battery as a result the next day.

3 - Just be honest with us. If you aren't going to fix it, just say so so we can move on to something else and not waste our time. "We are actively working on a solution" definitely feels un-true after 6 months of no progress or updates. My (and likely others) desire to go write poor reviews everywhere we can, likely doesn't help your bottom line or reputation.

4 - How about an interim solution where you use your alert functionality on a schedule.  If I could get an alert if my door is still open at X time and then I can make the decision to press the button to close it or not, that would at least be something that helped me get my door closed each night like I bought this for.

I've already gone back and revised my Amazon review of the product, from 5 stars to 1, leaving my original review in place, and then posting the updated review at the bottom.

The way this entire thing has been handled, without any true communication apart from the typical canned responses a community manager has been handheld to give is truly telling.

Any company that cannot keep existing customers informed on how they have been mishandled is no company worth even waiting for. I don't know that scheduling will ever come back and I'm done waiting. I forget to close my garage door, the whole reason I purchased this was to get ALERTS when the door was left open, and to schedule it to close at a certain time is left open. Somehow the 2 features i bought it for, don't work anymore, and in the 9 months i have owned the product, it hasn't been updated with ANY new features, only had features removed or broken.

No schedule feature solution 7 months later, no improvements 1 year later, and no HomeKit solution 2 years later.

Sorry, guys but threats here don't mean anything to Chamberlain. Only one thing will scare these guys, make them hire competent developer(s), and get proactive in customer relations....competition

Where is it?! Until then, these posts are a futile attempt to make an inferior product better.

Yes, the app itself doesn't provide the version. You'll find it in your phone's Settings, towards the bottom where the apps are listed, under Chamberlain.

My version is 3.75.1 (3843)

I believe that's point here by everyone...other than another unfilled promise from Chamberlain, it doesn't exist. So why was it advertised when we bought the product? Bait & switch...false advertising...vaporware...call it what you want, but what it isn't is a feature.

So you are running a beta in house version, and use it to first try to lead us to believe we are nuts, then ultimately fess up in a round about way that you are either an employee or beta tester running a newer version.

Not at all shady way to proceed. You fit right in there. How about next time just admitting up front you're running an as of yet to be released bet version rather than dancing around it like that. How silly. Meanwhile for every NON BETA TESTING CONSUMER we are still sitting here with the months going by unresolved.

I have a single 2 car garage door.  I did have the same issue with saving the schedule back in the past.  It would fail every time.   Back then I had a different Garage door opener and was using the MyQ Garage with it.  After I installed the new Chamberlain WD1000WF, because I couldn't wait any longer and my old opener has been failing over time getting worse.  It would flake out trying to open and close.  I couldn't wait any longer.  I was trying to hold out to get a opener with Homekit support built in.  Of course there's still no openers made like that yet.

I didn't try setting a schedule until after I was in the MyQ Home Bridge Beta program.  So I don't know if it was because of that, or because of the new Opener?   I had just gotten the opener installed before I found out I was in the Beta program and getting the MyQ Home Bridge in the mail.  This isn't the first thing I have beta tested for them as I got a one of their "MyQ Remote Lamp Control" things in the past to test.

I've done a number of beta tests.  You know, I Beta Tested the Kinect for the Xbox 360 months before it was released to the public.   I'm still Beta Testing the Navdy software on my iPhone.  So I get new copy's from Apple's Testflight app for that like I did for Chamberlain.

I'm sure you did everything right.  It's just failing for you like so many others.  I'm just surprised I haven't seen any posts of it working for anyone else.  That seems strange to me.  There's no way I'm the only person it's working for.  Without others reporting, that it's working and what they have, how do you know what the answer or the current needed requirements are?  I'm far from the only person with a WD1000WF.  So I don't think it's that.  Others have gotten them after me.  I just have no answers.  They really need this working once again for EVERYONE.  It's been way to long.

2 recent app updates in, save schedule still broken. What bug fixes are actually being fixed? No release notes, not saying that's not par for  the course in most app updates now, but your app is still the one missing features i bought the product for.

Is there any timeline here at all? Looking for some sort of official word from Chamberlain her to be specific. Chuck, any sort of light you can shine on this one?

Mike,

I apologize for your frustration, and I'd like to help you troubleshoot this issue.

It looks like you've tried to set a schedule but received a "saved schedule failed" message. With two MyQ-enabled garage door openers, you should be able to create a schedule.  Please see the below article for instructions on setting a schedule.

http://support.chamberlain.com/articles/How_To/How-to-create-or-delete-a-MyQ-schedule-1484145723407/...

Let me know if this helps.

Best,

chuck,

Not sure why you sent this to me as these are the same procedures. If you follow the link it says this feature as been disables. As all of of have been saying this is a major reason why we bought the MyQ. This is disappointing that you have not been able to fix this. if you aren't going to fix it and only have it in the home. You should give your customers the home equipment to save face. Or make it simple and detect the level of the battery sensor and GIVE us this feature that was PROMISED.

I should find out more today, my wife let me know my homebridge came in. Some things I feel should be clarified is this was billed as a sort of fix for schedules failing, there was no mention that you had to have a homekit based home automation. I'll test it with my appletv off, because truthfully, there's a percentage of people who might have purchased or even redeemed for it for free in my case, explicitly because we were told on these forums that it would fix the scheduled closing issues. I will be happy either way because I have an appletv as well, but not everyone is in the same boat. I think regardless it will be moot as it seems they are getting closer to fixing the scheduling issue completely, or at least recent posts gave me hope. I know my coworker will be happy to put his MyQ garage back up once that happens.

Apparently the Apple TV or IPad with iOS 10 or better is needed to operate garages away from the house and through the network. I don’t have either so in the box the bridge sits. Now I’m unable to use the MyQ as I did prior to adding the bridge cause now I receive door sensor errors. Back to the button remotes I guess,

Confirmed. I could not even finish the setup of the homebridge without my appletv being on. I powered on the appletv and was able to complete the setup. I am able to control it via Siri on my watch and everything, but still can’t schedule the door to close in the app. Will try scheduling via Apple HomeKit but this doesn’t appear to fix the schedule fail for everyone, only those with HomeKit already running.

No worries Lauren. I was able to schedule in HomeKit but I am concerned that this was billed as the fix to scheduling and it in fact is not. If I had paid for this I’d be upset or if I received this and didn’t have HomeKit already I would be too. I hope y’all get this straight soon.

Why even ask someone to describe the issue and pretend you do not know what he is talking about.  It is the same issue that everyone is discussing and you know it.  Most people purchased this device to schedule a closing, you disabled the feature, now make it right and send the hardware required to schedule a closing!

Guess that's true, and I do agree to a point. There's been plenty of malicious apps on the Apple store, not as many as normally fall through the cracks with Android, but they're still present. I had several execs I know all using a business card scanner app for years without know it had backdoors written into it.

I have been happy with what I have seen out of Apple since switching, but I still approach even them with coarse grained salt.

I like how you approach home security though, good stuff to see. I'm curious to see what comes of the faceID concerns currently. Glad my wife didn't choose the x and went with an 8+ instead.

I’ve given up on the MYQ app ever getting fixed. I installed IFTTT and linked it to MyQ . That is able to close my garage doors on schedule. Had to pay Chamberlain $10.00 per year for subscription. They really should refund me that since I already paid them for a produc t which was advertised to do this.

We are all waiting on a truthful answer to this problem.  You sent the Home Bridge, I installed and it still does not work to schedule a closing as YOU PROMISED.  It is incomprehensible the lies and run around Chamberlain has fed its customers.  Are we going to get a straight answer?  Or do you just plan on stringing us along for another year?

JD.  I have done the research regarding utilizing using Apple Products to set up the automation.  But I DO NOT have an Apple TV, Ipad, or iPhone.  So the instructions for setting up automation using Apple products is not what I need.  We were sent the Home Bridge to get back the scheduling.  At no time were we told that we would need to purchase additional Apple products to make it work, even though we all asked.  What I have been asking is, "Is there a method or plan to set a schedule without needing to purchase other components.  It is a very simple question that we have been asking.  I do not want extra equipment that does me no good.  If Chamberlain wants to provide me with an Apple TV, Ipad, or iPhone, then I would guess it would work as you say.  Would be nice to have Chamberlain reps answer.

It is completely unacceptable that answers have not been forthcoming from the Chamberlain personnel.  It isn't like they do not know what is going on with their business and products, especially when they have had a year to deal with it.  Customers that have purchased products for specific functionality, and then to have it further disabled and expect customer to try to find the answers on our own is unacceptable.  All we are asking for is an honest answer so that we can make other plans if they have no intention of rectifying their problem.

Lauren,  You know that comment means nothing.  All the responses from the MyQ personnel have been completely untruthful.  There is absolutely no chance that you and others do not have complete understanding of the problem and if there is a method to make the scheduling work.   If you do not have answers to this issue, Chamberlain have much bigger problems.  I am not holding my breath expecting anything that really addresses this problem.  The message on the app still says check your internet.  What an outright lie!!!

Excuse me if I'm  skeptical but this what the company you represent said over a year ago.

I didn't receive a recall notice from Chamberlain indicating they had a solution to my issue.  So, I guess since I hadn't checked on the forum during the limited validity period I'm SOL. Ethically speaking I don't see why there's a limit on remediation for flawed products.

Between this and the requirement for a paid account to use Google Home with the opener my opinion of Chamberlain is not very good.  Considering that companies like Belkin don't consider using Google Home to activate their devices, ( e.g. their light switches ), a premium feature makes your company look pretty miserly.  Like Chamberlain, Belkin allows you to schedule events and control the devices from a smartphone app but unlike Chamberlain, Belkin allows customers to do the same from multiple smart hosts for no extra cost.

Lauren,
Are you kidding me?!  Mike posted an informative, factual, truthful, and believable answer.  And you posted "we will have useful information regarding scheduling in the near future".  Your answer is exactly what the problem is.  Mike has done your and Chucks job.  Just stop typing and say, "What Mike said"!!!  It really is this simple.

There is an old saying.  Better to keep you mouth closed and look stupid, than open it and prove it".

For MyQ Garage customers that want to regain the ability to schedule a "time to close the garage door":
1.  If you do not hav e a 4th Gen Apple TV or  extra Ipad.  Request the MyQ Hub.  It is the newer version of MyQ Garage(the one that has the disabled schedule close feature"
2.  If you have a 4th Gen Apple Tv or extra Ipad.  Request the MyQ Hub or the MyQ Bridge.

Chamberlain customer support has sent either, and in some cases both(because of incorrect forum information from the administrators).   All that any of us have wanted for over a year is truthful information.  I purchased the product for the ability to "schedule a garage door closing".  Chamberlain disabled it and all that I wanted was to make it operational again.  It has been over a year trying to get answers.  Thank you to Mike Canino for getting a breakthrough.

Mike, correct any incorrect information in my post.  Thanks.

All correct. How they can not just send everyone a Hub is beyond me. How long does it take for someone with authority to look at the situation and say "Get all of the people a Hub immediately". I don't believe Lauren and the person in charge have any understanding of the problem, There needs to be a management change. They need to put Heidi boss (in customer support) in charge of customer support and social media.

@steve Grinstead - if the door drops out of being able to be used like mine did, best things to do is default hub and myq garage and start from scratch. Only way I was able to fix it.

I too wonder why nothing has been said about scheduling failures. They had it working for beta testers for a while and then not again. I give up. I’m using mine until a competitor has Apple HomeKit support and then I’m giving mine to my sister inlaw who has chamberlain enabled garage doors on their new build.

If you got the home bridge and have HomeKit enabled via iPad or appletv, you can schedule via Apple HomeKit automation, or you can do geofence based closures as long as you approve the prompt on phone, while driving.

There has been absolutely no positive news to be released except “soon” in over 14 months. The bridge give away to people who participated in the forum was ok, for those involved but it further alienated and screwed other customers. I have a coworker in office next to me who didn’t use the forum but we had discussed the issues regularly. He’s screwed still because he wasn’t on the forum. That’s just ridiculous to handle box printed promises being broken, in that manner.

TLDNR - search out a replacement if you want it fixed now. They have proven only one thing, that they are slow to address and refuse to truly get out in front of this issue.

Heh! I bought MYQ-G0201  one year ago and schedule of closing the door was the main feature of my decision to buy it. It worked for appr 6-7 months and disappeared. A called lots of time to tech support and asked to explain what was going on and got answer that it would be fixed soon. Finally today when i called again they told me that it's unavailable for particular this Model and I had to BUY the new one. WHY? Or there is the way how Chamberlain makes money, right? I think if you find the error ether fix it or replace the device. Am I wrong? Personally for me I need this feature. I can return my MyQ because without scheduling I dont need it. I can open and close the garage door from home and from car.
So, MyQ manager please advice what should I do now?
Thanks

just return it.  My schlage zwave lock has malfunctioned 3 times now. Each time they replaced it: no questions asked.  This is how real companies handle problems with their products.  This isn't a real company.  They clearly don't realize they aren't special and its too easy to go to another product and never look back for life.

I just got mad enough this being disabled to do a web search and found this. I've been fighting with the app for over a year to get this working again. now I find out they disabled this on purpose. I think Chamberlain needs to supply us with new units since they won't fix it. Take a queue from Apple and make this right.

Ok, so you sent me the bridge.  Problem is that although we have an iPad, it uses a different apple ID.  It also goes with us when we travel, etc.  So basically, we'd have to purchase another iPad to just leave in our house and assign it to the same apple ID, right?  Lame

As a professional software developer for over 25 years I can honestly say no company I've ever worked for has treated their customers this shabbily.   Vague statements and hollow promises don't instill confidence with your customer base.   It's way past the time for Chamberlain to be honest and publish an accurate schedule and plan.   If you are not going to do anything concrete then admit it to your customers and deal with negative publicity.  At least stop making hollow promises.

Is this still an issue? Has the software been fixed? Is there a hub version to make this work?

Let me field this one for the Chamberlain team.  "Our technical team is working on a solution for this. We will announce updates as we have them."  I think that is how they have been saying it for over the last year.

Eric, read over the previous posts.  Don't waste your time waiting for a real or truthful response on these forums.  The answers are posted here from previous posters/customersf that have beat their head against the wall waiting  for "the solution that they are working on".

Call customer service for a real answer and solution.

Don't bother Eric. There is NO fix for this model. I've been emailing Chamberlain all day yesterday and today. The fix is to 'buy a new unit' they are coming out with. I just purchased mine a few weeks ago, and now that I'm going to set it up, I can't use the schedule feature, and am stuck with a $200 useless product.

I agree. It’s hopeless and this forum is worthless. I called customer service and the response I got was. “It should work. Must be a problem with your internet”

it's amazing how this tread dried up. I think it is because Chamberlain reach out to us individually and sent us know HUBS. Since they sent me my new hub the schedule works. I am now working a new issue and learned they have another software glitch. My app does not work all the time and learn that you are not supposed to control it with multiple  users. There is a whole other thread for that on here and they say they working on it. Is anyone else having issues w with  multiple users

I reached out and asked for a new hub.  Here is the response:

I apologize the older hubs do not have the scheduling feature. We do not send out new hubs you would need to purchase one on your own. There have been rare occasions where agents have sent out new hubs but that is not our usual process. I apologize for the confusion. Thank you for your time and patience.

If you need further assistance or have questions, please feel free to email me back. If you would prefer that I call you back, please email me the best phone number and time to reach you. Please use case number 20180422-741158.

Sincerely,
Jen

Yea I've been following this for over a year and there is no fix. I'm surprised they are not letting us even link it to home devices as a service to their customers. Is there a fix date that can be shared with the public?

Lucky you.  They never reached out to me.  I've never been so pissed off at a company before.  I will never, ever buy another Chamberlain product and will actively campaign against them to any and all.

So ... I have a MyQ-G0301. Scheduling worked fine all winter. I got a new router and had to change my WiFi settings so I reset the MyQ Hub. Everything is back and configured, except I can't add a new schedule to close my doors. I had three schedules working on this exact hub just last month. Now when I try a new schedule I get "Save Schedule Failed. Your door sensor battery is low ... will not work until the battery is replaced (708)" ... Well, I replaced the battery with a brand new one. Still get the same error. Now what?!

I'm gonna trash mine and get a different brand of opener completely. If you are reading this and you just purchased one of these return it!  Bad customer service and software is not fully functional.
