I got this message. "The door cannot be controlled because of too many failed attempts. Please operate the door locally to reset and allow unattended operation. " So what i did was delete MyQ app and re-add it. Also i've tried to unplugged everything and even deleted the app still doesn't work. When i push the inside wall control to close or open the door, the app is still saying when it close or open as normal.Never had this problem before since 5-6 months ago. Please help.

Got it figured out I was given a phone number for tech support and they helped me through it. I needed a range extender for my WiFi and a battery for the door sensor. They are very gracious and willing to help besides being patient in walking you through it. I am including the phone number to get help  Tech Support 800-528-9131 Hope that this helps someone else. I’m getting a “close error” Too Many Attmpts. Worked fine for 6 months. Got so upset with trying everything I bought a another one. Same problem. Moved the items into my bedroom next to my router. I’m going with garbage at this point. Don’t but it! I’m out a couple hundred as I bought both of mine on eBay.

Any updates? I just installed one yesterday and having this error consistently! I've check the battery and all the other help the app suggests.  I've got it working again but anticipate more troubles.  Any update on this long term issue before I may return the devices would be helpful.  Thank you.

I have an update. Went to app store on iphone and found one.  My individual issues went away and the device is working as anticipate.  Also the app now allows for three additional users.  You send them an email invite and they sign up with their own information.  One of those Iphone users is working fine, another one claims no email received and one google user saying issues but tbd.  Check for app update to start.  Ill  update later.

**SOLUTION** The issue, I believe, is attributed to the device caching the error. To resolve, you more or less need to remove the error from the memory of the device and re-add the device to your network. What I did to resolve:
1. Powered off the garage door opener (unplugged). Left it unplugged for about a minute.
2. Removed the faulty "hub" from the app.
3. Followed the instructions to add a new device.
4. You more than likely saved your proprietary WiFi connection the garage door opener omits when setting up. Remove this device from your trusted networks.
5. Connect to the WiFi connection provided from your garage door opener.
6. Connect and setup the new hub from the MyQ app.
7. Open/close your garage door opener from the wall.
8. Test opening/closing from your app.

I hope this helps!
